White Shepherd FAQ's:
Q:How does it work?
A:Blue
Devil reacts to a temperature differential at the leak point and that acts as a
catalyst which allows the chemicals to form a permanent seal.
Q:What does blue devil fix?
A:It
permanently seals cooling system leaks, such as radiators, heater cores, and
freeze plugs. It also permanently seals most blown head gaskets, cracked heads,
warped heads, and cracked blocks.
Q:Do I need to flush the
cooling system?
A:YES.
Remove the bottom radiator hose and flush the radiator and cooling system using
a flushing agent. The radiator must be free-flowing and unrestricted.
Q:Is it safe to use blue
devil in my vehicle?
A:YES.
Blue Devil is safe to use in all water-cooled systems. It is non-clogging and is
100% chemical. It does not contain any solids or particles that plug up leaks or
radiator cores.
Q:How much product do I
need?
A:Use
1/2 quart for a 3 gallon cooling capacity, 1 quart for up to a 4.5 gallon
cooling capacity, 1-1/2 quarts for 6 gallon cooling capacity, and 2 quarts for
up to a 7.5 gallon cooling capacity.
Q:How long will the repair
last?A:Blue
Devil is a permanent repair.
Q:My thermostat is hard
to reach. Do I really have to remove it?

there any applications where blue devil will not be effective?
A:Blue
Devil should not be used to seal seam leaks in radiators or heater cores.
Q:What are the telltale
signs of a worn or leaking head gasket?
• A rough-idling engine with large amounts of vapor coming from the tail pipe.
• Loss of coolant without an external leak and carbon deposits inside the
tailpipe.
• Bubbles in the radiator.
Q:Does blue devil work
on plastic heater cores?
A:YES.
It is suitable to repair all types of leaks in all types of cores.
Q:My freeze plugs are
the soft type. Will it work on them?
A:YES.
Blue Devil will permanently seal leaks in all types of freeze plugs.
Q:Will Blue Devil work
on aluminum engines?
A:YES.
Blue Devil will bond to all metal types – aluminum, steel, cast iron, even on
plastic cores and tanks.
Q:Will this product
knock me out of a engine job?
A:NO.
The application should be used for those customers who are unwilling or don’t
have the money to spend on a car that would not justify the expense.
Q:I tried the product
and my radiator has a white crystalline deposit or jell.
A:These
are telltale signs of a radiator that is in need of service. When fluids are not
changed often enough under severe service or in areas with hard water, scale
deposits form in the passages of the core. Sometimes the old fluid will jell or
crystallize and can be seen in the system. The radiator core must be replaced or
rodded out to bring it up to manufacturer’s specifications.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Blue Devil Engine and Cooling
Sealant should not be used on any vehicle that cannot maintain an idle for at
least 40 minutes without having to add coolant from over heating. It is not
recommended for leaks that result from a busted seam.
