This compound works on all types of automotive paint including clear coat, single-stage, and lacquer finishes. You can apply it by hand with a damp applicator or use a machine buffer for larger areas. The paste consistency gives you control over where the product goes and how much cutting action you apply, which matters when you are working on specific problem spots rather than the entire panel. The formula is VOC compliant with zero VOC content.

Rubbing compound is a more aggressive step than polish or wax — use it to level the surface first, then follow up with a polish and wax to refine the finish and add protection. A little goes a long way on each section.
