3M Fuel Injection Cleaner (16 oz.)

3M has been making automotive maintenance chemicals for decades, and their 08812 fuel injector cleaner is a straightforward tank additive that addresses the gum, resin, and varnish deposits that accumulate inside fuel injectors over time. Those deposits restrict the spray pattern and flow rate of the injectors, which shows up as hesitation, rough idle, stalling, or a gradual drop in fuel economy.

The concentrated formula works at a dosage of one ounce per gallon of gasoline, and 3M says it does its work in the time it takes to burn through one tank of fuel. Pour it in before you fill up, and by the time the tank runs down, the cleaner has cycled through the injectors and dissolved the buildup. No special equipment, no disconnecting fuel lines, and no shop visit required.

At 16 ounces per bottle, you get enough to treat 16 gallons, which suits most passenger car fuel tanks in a single treatment. For larger truck tanks, you may want two bottles to maintain the recommended ratio.
