3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive (1 oz.)

3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive (03601) is a single-component, solvent-based adhesive designed to permanently bond plastic emblems, rigid trim strips, taillight lenses, and moldings to fully cured painted automotive surfaces. It dries clear, making it suitable for transparent or translucent plastics where visible adhesive would be a cosmetic problem. Apply directly from the tube to one clean, dry surface — no mixing and no need to coat both sides.

Working time is approximately 10–30 seconds after application, which is enough time to position the part before the adhesive grabs. Initial set occurs around 15 minutes; full cure takes 24 hours. On vertical surfaces, 3M recommends holding the bonded part in place for 30 minutes using masking tape to prevent slipping before full adhesion develops. The cured bond resists water and heat exposure for exterior durability.

Important: this adhesive bonds to fully cured paint only. Fresh or soft paint may be marred by the solvent base — avoid contact with any painted area outside the bond zone. Clean surfaces thoroughly before application; oils, wax, or silicone residue will prevent proper adhesion. Bond is permanent and not designed to be repositioned once cured.
