This kit includes 5 quarts of aFe's PRO Guard D2 Synthetic 75W-90 gear oil. This oil exceeds the performance requirements of API GL-5, which is recommended for both open and limited slip applications. You'll have enough oil to fill both diffs.

What's the purpose of the calibration plug?

The calibration plug is set to the factory oil level. This eliminates the possibility of overfilling the differential, which can cause foaming and reduced lubrication.

Are any special tools required for installation?

The aFe diff covers come with all the necessary hardware for installation. Refer to the manufacturer's installation instructions for torque specs and any sealant recommendations.
