Magnetic Coil Strut Assembly

The MR-3840 is a new magnetic coil strut assembly engineered for the front of 2015–2020 GM Short Wheelbase (2WD) SUVs equipped with Z95 MagneRide. This direct replacement restores proper factory ride height and maintains the performance expected from a MagneRide system. For GMs K2 platform, Arnott provides two ride height options: the MR-3840 restores the vehicle to its original height, while the MR-5358 offers an additional 1 inch lift. At the core of this assembly is an OES monotube damper filled with magnetorheological fluid, a synthetic hydrocarbon oil containing iron particles that respond instantly to magnetic fields. When the electromagnetic coil is energized, the magnetized particles alter the effective viscosity of the fluid, adjusting the stiffness of the suspension in real time. This technology delivers precise, adaptive control for a balanced ride. The strut arrives fully pre-assembled with a powder-coated coil spring, upper strut mount, bump stop, spring seat, and isolator for true plug-and-play installation. Designed and assembled in the USA, it fits either front position and comes with a detailed installation manual. Arnott recommends replacing in pairs for the best results.
