ARP 204-4707 head studs are made from 8740 chromoly steel. This kit is for 1999-2001 Porsche 911 models with the 3.4L and 3.6L engines. These studs offer a stronger clamping force than the factory head bolts, helping to prevent cylinder head lifting under high cylinder pressures.
ARP uses a proprietary heat-treat process on their 8740 chromoly steel to achieve a tensile strength of 200,000 psi. This makes them well-suited for performance applications where stock head bolts might fail.
