Worn-out main bearings cause engine knock and potential bearing failure. This ARP Main Stud Kit is a direct fix for Toyota 2ZZGE DOHC 1.8L 4-cylinder engines. It replaces the factory main bolts with stronger studs, which helps keep your crankshaft properly secured under high stress.
ARP uses forged 8740 chromoly steel for these studs. They are heat-treated and then quenched and tempered to achieve a tensile strength of 200,000 psi. This makes them considerably stronger than stock bolts, reducing the risk of stretching or failure in performance applications.
