Autometer Wire Harness Tachometer For Model 8199-05702

This optional wiring harness is what you need if you're using AutoMeter's ultra-lightweight carbon fiber racing tachometer, model 8199-05702. It's designed to let that tachometer interpret a digital RPM signal, which is pretty common on most performance ignition systems and ECUs these days. Without this harness, the tachometer is set up by default to read a NASCAR McLaren ECU CANbus signal, which isn't what most custom builds use.

By adding this harness, you're essentially changing how the tachometer receives its information. Instead of trying to read that specific CANbus data, it'll now be able to understand the digital RPM signal that your performance ignition or ECU is sending out. This makes it much easier to get your tachometer working correctly with a wider range of performance setups without needing to change the tachometer itself.
