You get the Banks Power Techni-Cooler System with boost tubes in this Banks Power intercooler kit. It's built to optimize the boosted air going into your engine, giving you more consistent power and lower exhaust gas temperatures. If you're running a tuned 6.6L Duramax LB7 in a 2001 Silverado 2500 HD or 3500, or a GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500, this is a solid upgrade.
The stock intercooler can be a bottleneck, causing turbulence that hurts airflow and power. Banks addressed this by increasing the flow area. The core is 25% thicker and has 34% more volume than stock. It also uses 3-inch mandrel-bent boost tubes and custom-machined cast end tanks. These end tanks are stronger than typical sheet metal ones and won't melt or burst under high boost. They also have a streamlined design to improve airflow into the engine.
