It works by reducing the amount of heat that transfers from the hot lower intake manifold to the upper intake, which keeps your incoming air charge cooler and denser. Cooler air means more power, and it also helps prevent detonation, allowing you to safely add more timing advance for even more performance.

This spacer is CNC machined from 3/8 inch thick phenolic material, which is a great insulator. Beyond the performance gains, it also adds a bit of height between the intake manifold and the valve covers.
