BD Diesel BrakeLoc - 1994-2003 Ford 7.3L Manual Trans

This BD Diesel BrakeLoc kit connects to your 1999-2003 Ford F-250 Super Duty's factory exhaust back pressure (EBP) valve control wire. It essentially turns your truck's existing EBPV into an electronically controlled exhaust brake. This is a cost-effective way to get some engine retarding power for towing, especially when dealing with medium to heavy loads.

Because the factory EBPV is activated hydraulically, you'll notice a slight delay, typically 2-3 seconds, between when the BrakeLoc commands the valve and when you feel the engine braking effect. While this kit offers an economical solution for engine braking, it's important to know it's not a direct replacement for a dedicated exhaust brake system. For more immediate and powerful braking, a system with Variable Orifice Technology is recommended, as the stock EBPV can sometimes stick.
