Starting with 1-inch, 1-1/4-inch, and 1-inch DOM tubing, BMR Suspension builds its KM018 Tubular K-member to be a strong, lightweight alternative to the factory unit on your 2005-2014 Ford Mustang. This isn't just about shedding pounds; it's about improving the structural integrity of your Mustang's front end, which can make a noticeable difference in how the car handles and responds. The factory K-member and its mounts can weigh around 46 pounds, but BMR's design shaves off about 20 pounds, bringing the total down to just 26 pounds. This weight reduction is achieved partly by integrating the engine mounts directly into the K-member itself, eliminating the need for separate, heavy factory mounts.

Beyond the weight savings, this K-member is designed to give you more room. If you're planning to install larger diameter headers or a turbo kit, the increased clearance provided by this tubular design can make the job much easier and allow for more aggressive setups. BMR states that every K-member is a 100-percent bolt-in installation, meaning no cutting or welding is required to get it fitted onto your Mustang. This particular KM018 comes with standard motor mounts and standard rack mounts, and it's finished in a durable red powdercoat to resist corrosion and look good. While it's a direct bolt-in for most aspects, keep in mind that if you have a 2011-2014 Mustang with the factory aero pan, you'll need to make some modifications for it to fit correctly. BMR also recommends their A-Arm Support Brace (AAS001) for street and handling use to further enhance front-end rigidity, and if your application is pushing over 700 lb-ft of torque, consider their billet aluminum motor mount upgrade (MM006).
