If you're looking to swap a modern LS engine into your 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro or Firebird, or just want to shed some serious weight from the front end, this tubular K-member from BMR Suspension is a solid choice. The factory K-member is a heavy, bulky piece, and this BMR unit replaces it with a much lighter and stronger design. It's built from 1-1/2-inch by 0.120-inch wall DOM steel tubing and uses 3/16-inch laser-cut, CNC-formed steel plates, making it incredibly rigid. This design also gives you more clearance for larger exhaust headers or turbocharger setups, which is often a big help with LS swaps.

This particular K-member, the KM008R, comes with integrated motor mounts specifically for LS1 engines, simplifying your engine swap. It also includes mounts for a standard steering rack. BMR builds these as a 100-percent bolt-in replacement, meaning no cutting or welding is required for installation, and it even replaces the factory cast iron frame stands with its own integrated steel ones. The result is a significant reduction in front-end weight – often over 30 pounds when paired with BMR's lower A-arms, and potentially up to 100 pounds with other lightweight front suspension components. This K-member is finished in a durable red powdercoat for a great look that lasts.

Keep in mind that this K-member is not compatible with the OE A-arms, so you'll need to pair it with aftermarket lower A-arms. Installation typically takes around 4-5 hours. It’s proudly made in the U.S.A.
