The Cognito 3-inch Performance Leveling Kit for your 2020-2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD starts with Cognito's SM Series Upper Control Arms. These boxed sheet metal arms are media blasted and powder coated black, arriving fully assembled and ready to bolt on. They feature a corrected high-angle ball joint to accommodate the extra travel this kit provides, placing the ball joint in an optimal position for your truck's new ride height. The arms also increase caster for better highway drivability and include the patented Cognito Alpha Ball Joint, a heavy-duty component designed for IFS suspensions.

This kit also incorporates Cognito 2.0 IFP aluminum shocks, tuned specifically for these trucks. These shocks offer on-road comfort and control while allowing for more confident off-road excursions. The front shocks are designed with a specific length to maximize suspension travel without binding critical components like tie rods, lower ball joints, and CV axles, effectively adding 35% more droop travel. To ensure consistent damping performance, they are gas-charged with high-quality oil and feature an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) to prevent oil aeration. The shocks use a vulcanized upper bar pin and bushing for OEM-like mounting and have hard-anodized bodies, end caps, and seal heads for corrosion resistance.

The core of the leveling function comes from Cognito's torsion bar keys, which convert droop travel into increased ride height, yielding up to 3 inches over stock. This combination provides a leveled stance and improved clearance for larger tires, while maintaining necessary droop travel for excellent ride quality, often better than stock. For those who carry heavy loads or prefer a slight rear-high rake, an optional 1-inch block and U-bolt kit is available. The included rear shocks are longer than stock to accommodate up to 1.5 inches of rear lift, while still functioning correctly if the rear is not lifted.

While this kit provides a significant upgrade, Cognito highly recommends adding their patented Pitman and Idler Arm Support kit. These arms have historically been a weak point in GM steering systems, especially with oversized tires and leveling kits, leading to premature wear and alignment issues.
