This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring a Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. With a compressed operating thickness of 0.040 inches and a 4.100-inch bore, it's designed for GM LT1 and LT4 Gen-2 Small Block V8 engines, fitting a range of vehicles like the Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Pontiac Firebird from the mid-90s.

The MLS construction offers increased strength and the ability to rebound, helping to resist corrosion and withstand the shearing forces between aluminum heads and cast iron blocks, or between two aluminum components. The Viton coating on the outer layers is a heat-resistant material capable of handling temperatures up to 482°F (250°C), making it suitable for demanding sealing environments and various surface finishes.
