The outer layers of this gasket are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant rubber material that can handle temperatures up to 482°F (250°C). This coating ensures a good seal even in demanding conditions and on different surface finishes. The center layer is stainless steel and can be varied in thickness to achieve different compressed heights; this specific gasket has a compressed thickness of 0.098 inches and is designed for an 84.5mm bore.
