This is a Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket for AMC 390 and 401 Gen-3 V8 engines. It's designed with a 4.250-inch bore and a compressed thickness of 0.098 inches, making it suitable for a range of classic American Motors and Jeep vehicles from the late 60s through the late 70s, like the AMX, Ambassador, and Jeep Wagoneer.

Cometic builds these gaskets using multiple layers of stainless steel, which gives them increased strength and the ability to rebound, helping them resist corrosion and withstand the forces generated between different block and head materials, whether you're pairing aluminum heads with an aluminum block or cast iron block.
