Starting with the multi-layer steel (MLS) construction, this Cometic head gasket is built for the demands of high-output engines. It features multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, which not only adds strength but also helps the gasket rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a heat-resistant rubber material rated up to 482°F, designed to handle tough sealing environments and varying surface finishes.

The center layer is uncoated stainless steel and can be varied to achieve different thicknesses; in this case, the compressed operating thickness is 0.036 inches. This gasket is suitable for Brodix 12-23 Degree heads and is designed for both aluminum heads to aluminum blocks and aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, as it can withstand the shearing forces that can occur between dissimilar metals.
