This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring a Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. The compressed operating thickness is precisely 0.070 inches. MLS gaskets are ideal for high-output engines and work well with both aluminum and cast iron blocks, handling the shearing forces between different metals. The stainless steel layers provide increased strength and resist corrosion, while the Viton coating is heat resistant up to 482°F (250°C), designed to handle tough sealing environments and various surface finishes.
