This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed stainless steel layers, featuring a Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. It has a compressed operating thickness of 0.040 inches and includes steam holes. MLS gaskets are designed to provide maximum sealing performance for today's high-output engines and don't require additional sealants, making them suitable for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron head and block combinations. They can handle the shearing forces that occur between different metal types.
