This is a Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for your 1995-1999 Dodge Avenger, 1995-1998 Dodge Neon, 1996-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse, or 1995-1998 Plymouth Neon. It features an 88.5mm bore and a compressed thickness of 0.070 inches. This gasket is built to handle the demands of higher output engines and provides a strong seal without needing additional sealants.
The gasket is constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel for increased strength and resistance to corrosion. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant rubber material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 482 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes it suitable for sealing between aluminum heads and either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it can manage the shearing forces that arise from dissimilar metals. The center layer is stainless steel and can be varied in thickness to meet different requirements.
