This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring an outer layer coated with Viton rubber. The compressed operating thickness is precisely 0.040 inches. This design is ideal for high-output engines, offering maximum sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. It's well-suited for applications combining aluminum heads with either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it can handle the shearing forces that arise from these material combinations.

The strength of these MLS gaskets comes from their layered stainless steel construction, which also allows them to rebound and resist corrosion. The Viton coating on the outer layers is a heat-resistant flour elastomer material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 482°F (250°C), making it suitable for demanding sealing environments and various surface finishes.
