This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. This construction is designed to handle the demands of high-output engines, providing maximum sealing performance without needing additional sealants. It's well-suited for applications using aluminum heads with either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it can manage the shearing forces that arise between different metals. The stainless steel layers offer increased strength and resistance to corrosion, while the Viton coating can withstand temperatures up to 482 degrees Fahrenheit, making it suitable for harsh sealing environments.

The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel and can be varied to achieve different compressed thicknesses, with this specific gasket having a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches. This gasket fits a range of classic Mopar vehicles, including models like the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and Plymouth Barracuda from the late 1960s and early 1970s, when used with a World Products Man-o-War block and a 4.500-inch bore.
