This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring a Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. This construction is designed to handle the demands of high-output engines and works well with both aluminum and cast iron blocks. The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, allowing for varied thickness requirements, and this specific gasket is set at a compressed thickness of 0.040 inches. It also includes a Darton M.I.D. sleeve and is specifically for the left side of Ford 4.6L DOHC engines.

The Viton coating on the outer layers is a heat-resistant elastomer that can withstand temperatures up to 482°F (250°C), making it suitable for harsh sealing environments and various surface finishes.
