This is a Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Ford FE V8 engines. It features a 4.400-inch bore and a compressed thickness of 0.066 inches. This gasket is built to handle the demands of high-output engines and is suitable for applications using aluminum heads with either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it can manage the shearing forces between different metals.

Cometic constructs these MLS gaskets from multiple layers of stainless steel for increased strength and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant rubber material that can handle temperatures up to 482°F (250°C) and works well in various sealing environments. The center layer is uncoated stainless steel and can be varied to achieve different thicknesses. These gaskets are designed to seal effectively without the need for additional sealants.
