This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring a Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. This construction is designed to handle the demands of high-output engines and offers excellent sealing performance without needing additional sealants. MLS gaskets are well-suited for applications pairing aluminum heads with either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as they can manage the shearing forces that can occur between dissimilar metals.

The multiple stainless steel layers give these gaskets increased strength and the ability to rebound, while also resisting corrosion. The Viton coating on both sides is a heat-resistant material capable of handling temperatures up to 482°F (250°C), making it suitable for harsh sealing environments and various surface finishes.
