Starting with a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches, this Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built for the demands of GM LS Gen-3 and Gen-4 small block V8 engines. It features a 4.060-inch bore and a total thickness of 0.086 inches, making it suitable for a wide range of performance applications and vehicles, including models like the Chevrolet Corvette and Cadillac CTS.

The construction uses multiple layers of stainless steel for increased strength and resistance to corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton, a heat-resistant rubber material capable of handling temperatures up to 482°F (250°C). This design is ideal for sealing between aluminum heads and either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it can withstand the shearing forces that can occur between dissimilar metals.
