This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring an outer coating of Viton rubber. This construction is key for sealing performance, especially in high-output engines, and it means you don't need to add any sealants during installation. MLS gaskets are well-suited for joining aluminum heads to either aluminum or cast iron blocks because they can handle the different expansion rates and shearing forces between these materials.
