This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed stainless steel layers, featuring an outer coating of Viton rubber. With a compressed operating thickness of 0.030 inches and an 87mm bore, it's designed to handle the demands of high-output Mitsubishi 4G63 and 4G63T engines found in models like the Eclipse, Galant, and Lancer through EVO3.
The multi-layer steel construction offers increased strength and resilience, helping to resist corrosion and maintain sealing integrity even with dissimilar block and head materials, like aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. The Viton coating on the outer layers is heat resistant up to 482°F (250°C), making it suitable for harsh sealing environments and various surface finishes. This gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance without the need for additional sealants.
