Starting with the embossed outer layers coated with Viton, this Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built to handle the demands of high-output engines. The Viton coating, a heat-resistant rubber material, is applied to both sides of the outer layers, designed to perform in tough sealing conditions and on various surface finishes. This gasket is specifically made for the Jaguar AJ133 Gen-3 AJ-V8 and Land Rover LR-V8 5.0L engines, featuring a 93mm bore and a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches.

Cometic's MLS design uses multiple layers of stainless steel, which not only increases strength and resistance to corrosion but also allows the gasket to rebound. This construction is ideal for sealing between aluminum heads and blocks, or aluminum heads and cast iron blocks, as it can manage the shearing forces that arise from dissimilar materials.
