This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring a Viton rubber coating on the outer layers. This construction is designed to handle the demands of high-output engines and provides a strong seal without needing additional sealants, making it suitable for applications with aluminum heads paired to either aluminum or cast iron blocks. The center layer is uncoated stainless steel, allowing for variations in thickness to meet specific requirements, with this particular gasket having a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches and a 93mm bore.

The stainless steel layers offer increased strength and resistance to corrosion, while the Viton coating on the outer layers is a heat-resistant material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 482°F (250°C). This makes the gasket well-suited for harsh sealing environments and varying load conditions.
