It's well-suited for mating aluminum heads to either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it can manage the shearing forces that arise between different metals.
The stainless steel layers offer increased strength and resistance to corrosion, while the Viton coating on both sides is heat-resistant up to 482°F (250°C). This material choice ensures the gasket can handle harsh sealing environments and varying load conditions. The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel and can be varied to achieve different gasket thicknesses, with this specific gasket having a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches and a 0.075-inch uncompressed thickness, a 92.5mm bore, and is designed for engines without VVT-i on the right-hand side.
