This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is built with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring an outer layer coated with Viton rubber. This construction is designed to handle the high output of modern engines and provides excellent sealing without needing additional sealants. It's a solid choice for engines using aluminum heads with either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as the multiple steel layers can manage the shearing forces that occur between dissimilar metals.

The stainless steel layers offer increased strength and resistance to corrosion, while the Viton coating on the outer layers is a heat-resistant material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 482°F (250°C) in demanding sealing environments.
