COMP Cams is well-known for making performance valvetrain components. When you're installing a steel roller camshaft, you can't use the stock cast iron distributor gear. This COMP Cams bronze distributor gear is the correct part to use in that situation. It's made from AMPCO-45 extruded aluminum bronze with 5% nickel added, which gives it a strong tooth design that holds up well, even if you're running a high-pressure oil pump.
This gear has a 0.491-inch inside diameter and fits a variety of Chevrolet engines. That includes the 90-degree V6 engines from 200 to 262 cubic inches, Small Block V8s from 265 to 400 cubic inches, and Big Block V8s from 396 to 454 cubic inches. The strong tooth design helps resist wear, ensuring it works reliably with your steel roller cam.
