When you're installing a steel roller camshaft in your Chevrolet V6 or V8, you'll need to swap out the stock cast iron distributor gear for a bronze one. This COMP Cams bronze distributor gear is specifically made for that purpose. It's designed to work with steel roller cams, which can wear down a factory gear quickly.
This gear is machined from AMPCO-45 aluminum bronze with 5% nickel added, giving it a strong tooth design that holds up well, even if you're running a high-pressure oil pump. It fits a 0.500-inch shaft diameter and is intended for use with MSD distributors on Chevrolet 200-262 V6, 265-400 Small Block, and 396-454 Big Block engines.
