When you open this COMP Cams kit, you'll find everything you need to get started: the CRB 282S camshaft itself, a set of matching lifters, assembly lube to get everything properly coated from the start, and decals and instructions to guide you through the process. This is a solid flat tappet camshaft and lifter kit designed for Chrysler B and RB series engines, specifically the 383, 400, 413, 426 Wedge, and 440 cubic inch V8s. It's a popular choice for those building street/strip applications where you want a noticeable bump in performance over stock.

The CRB 282S camshaft has a 236 degrees duration at .050 lift on both the intake and exhaust sides. This means it's designed to keep the valves open longer, allowing more air and fuel into the cylinders and more exhaust out. For the 383 engine, COMP Cams recommends a torque converter with at least a 2800 RPM stall speed to take full advantage of the cam's powerband. If you're working with a 440, a 2400 RPM stall converter is suggested, along with a 700-800 CFM carburetor and a good set of headers to really let the engine breathe.

This kit is intended for a wide range of Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth vehicles from the late 1950s through the late 1970s.
