COMP Cams Cam & Lifter Kit CS 282S

This COMP Cams kit gives you everything you need to swap in a new camshaft and lifters for your Chevrolet Small Block Gen 1 engine. Inside the box, you'll find the CS 282S camshaft, a set of matching solid flat tappet lifters, assembly lube to get things started right, and the necessary decals and instructions. This kit is designed to work with a wide range of Chevrolet Gen 1 Small Block engines, including popular displacements like the 350, 327, and 400 cubic inch V8s, commonly found in vehicles like the Chevrolet C10, Camaro, and Caprice.

The CS 282S camshaft is a solid flat tappet design that's known for making good power on the street. It's built to provide a noticeable increase in performance, especially when paired with headers and lower gear ratios. Because of its aggressive profile, it really wakes up above 2500 RPM and will give you that classic choppy idle that many enthusiasts look for. To get the most out of this cam, you'll want to ensure your torque converter can handle at least a 2500 RPM stall speed.

It's important to note that this camshaft is designed for engines with factory flat tappet camshafts. If your Small Block was built from 1985 onward, GM began phasing in roller camshafts, and this kit will not be compatible. You'll need to confirm whether your engine has a flat tappet or roller setup by removing the intake manifold or timing cover before installation. This kit is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
