This COMP Cams Xtreme Energy XR268 solid roller camshaft and lifter kit is built for Chevrolet Gen 1 Small Block engines. It features a 230-degree intake and 236-degree exhaust duration at .050 lift, making it a noticeable upgrade for weekend cruisers. This kit is designed to work with a 9:1 or higher compression ratio, a torque converter with a 2000+ RPM stall speed, and lower rear-end gears. You'll notice a distinct idle with this camshaft.

Included in this kit are the camshaft itself, solid roller lifters, assembly lube to ensure proper break-in, and decals. This kit is intended for Chevrolet Small Block engines like the 262, 265, 283, 305, 327, 350, and 400. It's important to note that this kit is not compatible with LT1/LT4 engines or factory roller small blocks from 1985 and newer, as GM gradually introduced roller camshafts into their production engines. To confirm your engine's configuration, you may need to remove the intake manifold or timing cover to check if it's a factory roller or a flat tappet design.
