This camshaft is well-suited for vehicles weighing around 2600-3000 lbs and requires a compression ratio of 11.5:1 or higher, along with a 4500+ stall speed torque converter.
The CB 310B-8 features a 270 degree intake and 276 degree exhaust duration at .050 inch lift. This profile is an updated design aimed at improving performance in demanding applications. It's an excellent choice for jet boats with B impellers, offering strong performance for both flat bottom and hydro style boats, as well as bracket racing where consistent power is key.
Please note that this camshaft is not compatible with 1965-1966 396 c.i.d. Big Block engines that have an oiling groove in the rear journal. If your engine requires that specific feature, you will need to contact COMP Cams directly for assistance with a different part number.
