It features a 4/7 cylinder firing order swap, which can help improve exhaust scavenging and overall engine performance, particularly in drag racing applications. This camshaft is intended for use in vehicles originally equipped with flat tappet camshafts.
The CB 47S Tl292A-8 camshaft has a 262 degrees duration on the intake side and 270 degrees on the exhaust side, with a .470 lift for both intake and exhaust. This profile is well-suited for drag racing, offering a strong powerband that works well with these larger displacement V8s. Please note that this camshaft is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. Also, models from 1965-1966 with a 396 engine that have an oiling groove in the rear journal will require a different camshaft.
