This COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft is a retro-fit hydraulic roller designed for Chrysler 383, 400, 413, 426 Wedge, and 440 engines. It features a 3-bolt camshaft design, making it a direct fit for these Mopar B and RB series V8s. This camshaft is intended for builds aiming for improved performance, requiring supporting modifications to achieve its potential.
The XR280HR-10 has a 230-degree intake duration and 236-degree exhaust duration at .050 inch lift, with .525 inch lift on both intake and exhaust. To get the most out of this camshaft, COMP Cams recommends a rear gear ratio of 3.91 or higher, a torque converter with a stall speed of 2500 RPM or more, and a compression ratio around 9.5:1. You'll also want an aftermarket intake manifold and headers to help your engine breathe better. This combination helps the camshaft perform best in the 2500-6500 RPM range.
Keep in mind that this camshaft is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. It's a significant upgrade for performance-oriented Mopar builds, so ensure your engine is prepared for the increased demands.
