This COMP Cams CS 280MHQ S7 camshaft is designed for Chevrolet Small Block engines, specifically for modified applications like open-wheel racing where controlling tire spin is crucial. It features a 254/260 degree duration and is intended for engines with 327-358 cubic inches, 11:1 compression, and either a 2 or 4-barrel carburetor running on gasoline or alcohol.

The OWM T/C Series, which this camshaft belongs to, utilizes the latest lobe designs to create a broad torque curve with strong power output, effectively acting as a legal traction control system for racers. For engines with flat tappet configurations limited by rocker ratio rules, these camshafts provide a new level of performance and consistent on-track results. COMP Cams has incorporated advanced flat tappet cam technology for increased airflow and combustion efficiency, setting a new standard for performance and durability in IMCA sanctioned competition.

Due to the aggressive nature of this camshaft, it's recommended to use premium valve springs, race-quality lifters with EDM oiling provisions, heavy-duty stud mount rockers, and 3/8 inch or larger pushrods. For 1955-1957 Chevrolet models with an oiling groove in the rear journal, a different part number is required; please contact us for assistance. This camshaft fits a wide range of GM vehicles from 1980-1996, including many Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac models, but does not fit factory roller small blocks from 1985 and newer or LS-based engines.
