This camshaft is particularly well-suited for engines with a static compression ratio of 9.5:1 or higher, and it performs best when paired with an aftermarket torque converter with a stall speed of 2500 RPM or more. It’s engineered to deliver strong performance in the upper RPM range, and it works well with mild ratio rocker arms and traditional performance valve springs. While it’s designed for performance, it avoids the excessive wear often associated with more radical camshaft profiles. Keep in mind that this camshaft will produce a rougher idle and limited vacuum, which is typical for performance grinds like this. However, it's crucial to verify your specific engine's configuration. It does not fit LT1/LT4 engines or factory roller small blocks from 1985 and newer, as GM gradually introduced roller camshafts into many engines during the mid-80s and beyond. You may need to remove the intake manifold or timing cover to confirm if your block is a factory roller or a flat tappet design. It also does not fit any LS-based engines.
