This COMP Cams CS 300B-6 camshaft is a solid flat tappet design, intended for Chevrolet Small Block engines. It's built for demanding applications like puller, mud racing, drag racing, and oval track use, aiming to help your engine reach higher RPMs. This camshaft is a good option for engines in the 377-406 cubic inch range, and can also work well with 327-350 cubic inch engines when paired with a 4500+ stall converter, aiming for strong power delivery.
To get the most out of this camshaft, you'll need to upgrade your cylinder heads and manifold. It's designed to perform best with around 11:1 compression. This camshaft is particularly suited for lighter cars with larger engines competing on 1/2 to 5/8 mile tracks. It's important to note that this camshaft is not compatible with LT1/LT4 engines or factory roller small blocks built from 1985 and newer. Also, 1955-1957 Chevrolet 265 engines require a specific oiling groove on the rear journal, which this particular camshaft does not have; please contact us if your application requires that specific feature.
