This COMP Cams CS 307-R6DR camshaft features a 278/284 degree duration split and is a solid roller design, specifically intended for Chevrolet Small Block engines built for drag racing. It's a latest design for 350 cubic inch engines paired with race heads and a 5500+ RPM stall torque converter, aiming to maximize performance in demanding applications.
The design of this camshaft is optimized for use with a Melanized or Nitrided distributor gear. It's crucial to use the correct distributor gear type; using cast or steel gears without similar surface treatments will void the warranty. This camshaft fits a wide range of Chevrolet Gen 1 Small Blocks, including popular displacements like the 262, 283, 305, 327, 350, and 400. However, it's important to note that it does not fit LT1/LT4 engines or factory roller Small Blocks produced from 1985 onward, as GM gradually introduced roller camshafts into these engines. For engines from 1955-1957, specifically the Chevrolet 265, ensure there is a groove on the 5th cam journal for proper oiling.
This camshaft is intended for competition use and is not CARB approved, meaning it cannot be shipped to California.
