Product Details

If you're building a Chevrolet Gen 1 Small Block for oval track racing and need a camshaft that meets a .450" lift rule, this COMP Cams CS 45/28 H6 is a solid option. It's designed to work with hydraulic flat tappet lifters and will give you that characteristic rough idle and lower vacuum output that many racing applications prefer. This camshaft fits a wide range of Chevy Small Blocks from 262 to 400 cubic inches, including popular engines like the 350 and 305, found in vehicles from the 1950s through the early 2000s, such as Camaros, Corvettes, and many truck models.

This camshaft features a 242 degrees of intake duration and 255 degrees of exhaust duration at .050" lift, with a total lift of .450" on both intake and exhaust. The specific lobe separation angle helps create the rough idle and lower vacuum that can be beneficial for certain racing classes. It's important to confirm your engine's block type; this camshaft is for blocks that use flat tappet lifters and does not fit factory roller camshaft blocks from 1985 and newer, or the LS-based engines. If your 1955-1957 engine requires oiling on the 5th cam journal, you'll need to check for the groove.
