COMP Cams Camshaft CS XM 262H-12

This COMP Cams Xtreme Marine camshaft is designed for 1958 through 1998 Chevrolet Small Block engines that use a flat tappet camshaft. You'll get the camshaft itself, which is the heart of your engine's valve timing system. This particular grind is known for providing a noticeable idle and improved mid-range performance, making it a popular choice for marine applications and street performance builds where a strong mid-range pull is desired.

The CS XM 262H-12 features a 218/224 degree duration at 0.050 inch lift, which is a fairly aggressive profile for a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft. This means it will open the valves for a longer period, helping to increase airflow into and out of the cylinders. While it offers a noticeable idle, it's still manageable for many street-driven vehicles and offers excellent throttle response, especially in the mid-RPM range. It's built for engines ranging from 262 to 400 cubic inches.

It's important to confirm your engine uses a flat tappet setup, as many later model Small Blocks (especially from 1985 and newer) came with factory roller camshafts. You may need to remove the intake manifold or timing cover to verify. This camshaft is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
