Product Details
This COMP Cams CS XR252HR-10 camshaft is a hydraulic roller type designed for Chevrolet Gen 1 Small Block V8 engines. You'll receive the camshaft itself, ready for installation into engines like the 262, 265, 283, 305, 327, 350, and 400 cubic inch displacements. It's important to note that this camshaft is intended for blocks that originally used a flat tappet camshaft; it will not fit factory roller blocks from 1985 and newer, nor will it fit modern LS-based engines. Always confirm your block's configuration before purchasing.
The Xtreme Energy series camshafts are known for their ability to wake up older V8s, and this XR252HR-10 is no exception. With a 200-degree intake duration and 206-degree exhaust duration at .050 lift, it offers a noticeable improvement in throttle response and overall power band, especially in the mid-range. The .477 intake and .480 exhaust lift figures, combined with a 110-degree lobe separation angle, are carefully chosen to work well with a variety of cylinder heads and intake manifolds commonly found on these classic engines. This camshaft is a solid option for street performance builds where you want a bit more aggressive feel without sacrificing too much drivability.
When installing this camshaft, remember that it requires a compatible hydraulic roller valvetrain, including lifters, pushrods, and roller rocker arms. For early 1955-1957 Chevrolet 265 engines, ensure the 5th cam journal has the necessary groove for oiling, or contact us for specific details. This camshaft is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
