This COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft features a 218/224 degree intake/exhaust duration at .050 lift, a notable detail that translates to a quicker valve opening compared to older camshaft designs. This improved valve timing helps increase engine responsiveness and creates more area under the lift curve, which means more power. The XR270HR-10 is a hydraulic roller camshaft intended for OE roller Small Block Chevrolet engines from 1987 and newer, excluding LT-1 and LS1 variants. While it works well in carbureted setups, you'll see the best performance gains when paired with aftermarket intake manifolds, lower gear ratios, headers, and a free-flowing exhaust system. This camshaft is considered a high-performance application and is the largest option that can work with a stock torque converter, though it will result in a noticeable idle. It fits a wide range of vehicles, including models like the Chevrolet Camaro, Buick Roadmaster, and Cadillac Fleetwood from the late 80s and early 90s.
